1. Features of die casting mold
During the die-casting production process, the parts forming conditions of the die-casting molds are extremely harsh, and they are subject to repeated effects of mechanical abrasion, chemical erosion and thermal fatigue.
1) The metal liquid enters the mold cavity at high pressure and high speed, causing fierce friction and impact to the surface of the mold cavity, causing erosion and wear on the surface of the mold.
2) During the casting process, slag is inevitably brought in. The slag has a complex chemical effect on the surface of the formed parts. The compounds of aluminum and iron are like sharp splits, accelerating the formation and development of die-casting mold cracks.
3) Thermal stress is the main reason for cracks on the surface of mold forming parts. In the production process of each die casting, in addition to being washed by high-speed and high-pressure of metal liquid, the surface of the molded part also absorbs the heat emitted by the metal during solidification, resulting in heat exchange.In addition, due to the thermal conduction of the mold material, the temperature of the surface layer of the molded part has a sharp rise, resulting in a large temperature difference from the inside, thereby generating internal stress.When the metal liquid fills the cavity, the surface layer of the cavity first reaches a high temperature and expands, while the inner layer has a low mold temperature and a relatively small expansion amount, causing compressive stress to the surface layer.After opening the mold, the surface of the cavity comes into contact with the air, and is subjected to the cooling of compressed air and paint, resulting in tensile stress.This alternating stress increases with the continuation of production, and when the fatigue limit of the mold material is exceeded, plastic deformation of the mold surface layer causes cracks.
In order to maintain the durability of the profile, the profile is required to have thermal fatigue resistance, wear resistance, non-stick mold, and easy to remove parts.Therefore, the 4 most commonly used parts are used in the form Cr5MoSiV1(H13)Material manufacturing.
